The Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble’s (EYTE) Walking the Beat program came together this summer to revive the Black Lives Matter mural, continuing an annual tradition of honoring unity, justice, and community action. Their efforts keep the message alive, reminding us that young voices can spark change.

The Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble’s (EYTE) Walking the Beat program receives support in the amount of $379,940 from the Attorney General’s Office as a part of its inaugural Community-Based Violence Intervention (CBVI) initiative.

The Fountain Theatre has been awarded a WarnerMedia Arts and Culture grant funded by the AT&T Foundation to support Walking the Beat Los Angeles, a pioneering arts education program for inner city high school youth and police officers 




The Fountain Theatre, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization, focusing on nurturing creativity for multi-ethnic theatre and dance artists, has welcomed EYTE’s Theodore Perkins to join their Board of Directors.



The New Jersey Theatre Alliance has recently welcomed the Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble (EYTE) as their first round of Affiliate members. This news was received humbly by Theodore Perkins, the EYTE board, and staff. 



The Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble (EYTE) is proud to announce its designation as a qualified organization as defined by the rules of the New Jersey Cultural Trust.The official date of qualification was on September 29, 2020 – but what does this mean?”




Walking the Beat is a multi-week arts education program that brings together police officers and young people to cultivate relationships between both groups. Together they create and develop a performance for their community. 



Joined by a slate of guests including George Floyd’s brother, Terrence Floyd, and Eric Garner’s mother, Gwendolyn Carr, New Jersey’s fourth-largest city painted and dedicated a Black Lives Matter mural across the street from its City Hall.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Even in the presence of armed law enforcement officers, these teens are smiling. So are the police officers. There is an unexpected level of comfort between the two groups as they play games, act, and learn to see each other in a whole new light.
